For ages 3, 4 and 5

A story that suits someone who is just starting to listen.

At this age a story is about recognition: this is me, this is my house, this is Grandpa. Mira keeps the scenes short, gives the picture room and builds one exciting moment that ends well.
  • Entirely unique

No templates. Your story is always one of one.

  • Your own characters

People, animals and places from your life play the leading roles.

  • See it first

Read and look at the story first. Only then do you decide.

  • Personal & private

Your stories are private. You decide who sees them.

Personal. Really personal.

What Mira can use about a three-year-old

The smaller the child, the more the small things matter. A cuddly toy with a name does more at this age than an adventure with a plot.

  • the cuddly toy or the blanket that goes everywhere
  • what they love to eat most, and what absolutely not
  • the word they made up themselves
  • who puts them to bed
  • the pet, and what it is really called
  • what they are afraid of — and who reassures them then

Sometimes all you need is a small idea

Three directions Mira can take

  • The night Bear ran away

The cuddly toy is gone and it is nearly bedtime. A search through the house in which every room gives back something that seemed lost.

  • Who makes the clouds?

A question a child really asks, and an afternoon of looking for an answer that is lovelier than the right one.

  • The very longest pavement

From the front door to the postbox is a journey round the world, when you are nearly four and allowed to go alone for the first time.

You need not choose. “Let Mira choose” is there too, and your own idea is always welcome.

From your world

What you tell, and what comes out

  • Fien, 4
  • cuddly rabbit Fluff
  • loves dancing
  • Grandma lives round the corner

Mira’s proposal

Fien and Fluff dance the rain away

When it has rained for three days and Grandma’s garden is under water, Fien decides you might be able to dance the rain away. Fluff dances along, and so does the neighbour.

An example of what such a proposal looks like. Yours will be about you.

Your story. In the format that suits you.

Questions people often ask

Does a three-year-old understand that it is about them?

Usually not straight away, and that is precisely the fun. The penny often drops on the second or third reading — at a detail that only exists at home, like the name of the cuddly toy or the word they made up themselves.

Can the story be made without a photo?

Yes. A photo helps Mira make the character look like the child, but you can also just describe what someone looks like. The story is no less for it; the likeness is.

Is there anything Mira does not write about at this age?

Mira writes no scary scenes, no loss and no punishment. Excitement is allowed, but it is resolved within the same page. You read exactly what happens before the book is made, and you can change it.

Who would it be about?

A name, a few details and the people around them. That is all Mira needs to begin — and you read the story before you decide anything.
