For ages 6, 7 and 8
The age at which a story may be a story.
Entirely unique
No templates. Your story is always one of one.
Your own characters
People, animals and places from your life play the leading roles.
See it first
Read and look at the story first. Only then do you decide.
Personal & private
Your stories are private. You decide who sees them.
Personal. Really personal.
What brings a story to life at this age
Not looks, but what someone cares about. A seven-year-old recognises themselves in what they can do and what they are busy with.
- the sport or hobby the whole house always talks about
- the best friend, by name
- what they can already do and what not quite yet
- the teacher, the club, the street
- a joke that only works between you
- the subject they know everything about

Eighty to a hundred and thirty words per scene, a storyline with a real knot, and enough white space to read by themselves. Long enough to disappear into, short enough for one evening.
Questions people often ask
Can my child read it alone?
From about seven, usually, with a little help. The sentences are short, the page is calm and the text sits on a page of its own next to the illustration — not over it.
Can friends and classmates be in it?
Yes, up to five characters in total. Do ask their parents’ permission if you use their photo; they are their children. Without a photo works too — then you describe them.
May something exciting happen?
Yes, and at this age it belongs. No violence and no loss, but a real knot that the main character untangles themselves. You read the story beforehand and decide whether it is right.
